We are all moved in, mostly unpacked and almost settled. After writing a few letters, a family decided to rent us their house which they had on the market. We are not quite ready to buy yet before we get idea of the job, the area and the house itself. But, I have to say, all are working out quite well so far.
It is so good to have the family back together, the boys really missed daddy. Matt's trip across with Chessie was long but they arrived safely so it was worth it. Before Matt arrived, my mom watched the boys and Matt's parent's drove down here with me to meet the moving truck. We got a bunch of stuff done (its amazing how much you can accomplish when you aren't making meals, executing time-outs and corralling 2 boys and a dog!).
Matt started his new job this week and really likes it. He is working long hours right now but still gets home around 6:00-6:30pm. Just enough time to see the boys a bit before they go down. We like the area so far. Its very similar to where we lived before Seattle, near Norfolk. Although we lost our beautiful mountains and scenery, we have gained easy access to everything we need. I can't quite describe the feeling of relief knowing that our families are 5 hours away, by car. I know its not an easy drive and it still takes some planning...but just KNOWING they are there and close enough for a visit, it makes me feel so happy. Aunt Megan already came for a visit and helped me paint our kitchen. It looks so much better now. And speaking of the kitchen, we really like our house. Its in a great neighborhood with tons of kids. Its a bigger house with lots of storage and a garage. More space to stretch out and be able to store things in an attic rather than under the bed? Yes, please! Have to buy furniture for 3 more rooms we didn't have before? Oops. We are going to wait a couple more months before we make a decision to buy but everything looks great so far!
I will be sending out move announcements this week with all of our new information on it. Come visit any time! Its already in the 70's and beautiful!
This is what a temper tantrum looks like. Just in case you haven't seen one before:)
This was proceeded by a time out.
