This past weekend, we drove down to check out Portland, OR. Its a great city, similar to Seattle. The Farmer's Market is insane. I could hardly contain myself. We also went to the Portland Children's Museum. If you have young kids and you visit Portland, this is a MUST!
Out to dinner, I am telling them some funny jokes!

These tents are the best.

We will definitely go back to visit again!

P.S. Aunt Kristen, we are getting so much use out of these little shoes. Evan is obsessed with them and constantly trying to put them on himself.

Some little things...

Summer is going by too fast...but its been fun. Lately, we have just been hanging out enjoying the beautiful weather.

On our way out to dinner, we stopped by Poulsbo's little Aquarium to check it out. The boys need to be a bit older to really enjoy everything but they liked watching the fish swim around in the tanks.

We went over to a friends house the other day to watch the Seattle Sounders (soccer) game. The boys (and of course, their daddy) had to get dressed for the occasion!
Lately, the boys have been obsessed with books. They love to flip through them and look at all the pages. I love it! They are even careful not to rip any pages!

I heart Canada

The boys 1st birthday was great. On their actual birthday, they ate cake and had their pictures taken. Alex was the 1st to go. We sat the cake down in front of him. It took him about 3 seconds to realize what it was and he just dug in. As he chowed down, he kept looking around at us, in disbelief that he was aloud to eat this much and get so messy. Then it was Evan's turn. He put his hand in the icing, wiped it on the floor and crawled away. Then we equipped him with a spoon and he was game. After about an hour of clean-up which entailed sugar-high induced squealing in the bathtub, they went down for a nap. Then we opened presents with their Grammy and Grandpa (matt's parents) on skype. They got such cute toys and played with them for the rest of the day. I am still in shock that its been a year. Man, time flies.
The following week, we joined some friends up in Whistler, BC with my family. It is so beautiful up there. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees all week, no clouds or rain. We rode bikes, checked out the Village, went to the beach, swam in the hot tub and relaxed.

....i couldn't fit all the pictures on one post so continue on...
We did have a little "party" for the boys. More cake, this time, both boys knew exactly what to do. More fun presents and a much needed bath!

We rode the gondola up to the top of Whistler where there was still snow. This is my Dad with Mia on his lap sledding (with no sled) down the hill.

Dave & Amanda!

The boys don't fancy keeping baseball hats on anymore. So, we rigged up some "bandanas" to keep the sun off their buzzed heads and it worked!

We loved Whistler and would love to go back. There is so much to do and as the boys get older, more things we can all do together. It was a great ending to their 1st year of life.
