3 generations...

I am so blessed to be able to have my Grandparents still around and active.  Matt and I both have & had amazing grandparents in our lives. My grandparents stopped by the other weekend on their annual migration south for the winter.  Luckily for us, they are now only about 2 hours from where my parents live so we will still get to see them.

We showed them a day in our life- playground, pumpkin patch, etc.  The weather was beautiful!

We heart FALL!

Our weather has been beyond perfect.  Sunny, high 60's into the 70's and breezy.  We can't get enough of it and are so thankful it has lasted so long.  Its like summer in the Pac NW.  We try and take every moment to be outside, riding bikes, hunting for bugs and sticks and playing with Chessie.  The boys vocab is getting a little bigger every day.  Mainly, they are words only I understand but they are getting better and better at communicating.  Alex would ride his bike 24/7 if he could.  Evan loves to play with his little figurine toys (animals, etc) and carries them everywhere.  They are both into coloring now, especially Evan.  Its been really fun lately with them, they talk non-stop and are recently very interested in the moon and night time.
We painted pumpkins the other day, it was so funny to see their separate personalities effect this little craft.

A couple weeks ago, my parents flew us down to their new home in Orlando.  We swam in their pool and spent a couple days at Sea World.  We fed and touched the dolphins, fed the Sea Lions, saw Penguins, Sting Rays, Shamu, etc.  The best had to be the Dolphin Show.  Alex was physically shaking with excitement through the whole show and when the trainers flew their parrots over our heads, he clapped his hands so hard, I thought he was going to give himself a heart attack.  Evan loved it too, his eyes were as big as saucers.  Definitely something we will be doing again!

This was right after he wound back and slapped my mom in the face with that dead fish.

We went on a walk the other day and stopped to climb some trees.  Our neighbor was driving buy and snapped some pics with her camera.

We are just about to put the boys in twin beds AND potty train.  I am sure there will be some funny stories to share with each of these big milestones.  Its a little sad, every time we take a step like this.  Of course, knowing now that we will be doing it all again is kind of cool.

Happy Fall!!

Bebe Grrrrr...

I can't believe its taken me this long to post but thanks to my good friend (thanks H.O'.) I am doing it now. On the morning of the boy's birthday party, I felt horrible.  Stressed, tired, hollow, icky.  Then I yelled at my poor sweet husband for no reason and I thought to myself...uh oh, I better buy a pregnancy test.  Sure enough, a couple hours later, Matt was hugging my guts out in the bathroom while we stared at the two VERY pink lines.  For the next 16 weeks, I tried to absorb the enormity of what we had just taken on while trying not to throw up my stomach lining.  I had never been that sick with the boys.

Then we got to see her.

HER.

I laid on that ultra-sound table as I had done 100 times while pregnant with the boys and could not look away.  A little girl, swimming around, happy and healthy.  Before I walked into the appointment, I was just getting used to the idea of having another baby.  But, then I got to see her and it was all suddenly real and I was in love.  Her little heart beating away.  Matt couldn't stop smiling.  We were just both thanking God over and over, healthy...a healthy baby, ANOTHER healthy baby.

We expect her around March 16.

I ask the boys what I have in my belly.  They say "bebe".  I say, what kind of baby?  "Grrrr".  What should we name her?  "Bebe Grrrr".  They keep trying to feed the baby through my belly button and can't understand why they can't take her out yet.  It must be confusing for them but in a couple more months, it will, most certainly, become very very real.

I have to say, I am a bit nervous.  Sure, we did twins.  But, I was naive to newborns, nursing and sleep deprivation.  Now, not so naive.  But, I know we can do it, it will just be a day by day process for a while.  The boys are ready and will be awesome big brothers.

Can't wait to share her with you next year!!

Summer vacation

About a year ago, some dear friends from our Sea tour in Virginia Beach planned a reunion.  We are now all on the east coast and missed each other!  Last time we had hung out as a group, we were all pretty much "newly weds" and now we had kids.  We met in Myrtle Beach and had so much fun.  Our schedules worked out great, all the kids loved each other and there was stuff to keep us busy all week long.

Why is he covering his eyes?

Oh, that's why.
