33 week pictures!

Our 33rd week flew by!  My mom, Mia, Aunt Diane, Maggie & Kelsey were all out to visit and we had a great time.  Our freezer is stocked, we have all kinds of new things sewn for the babies and I think we are ready for their arrival.  It was so good to see everyone.  I can't believe the next time we see them, we will be parents!

Happy Father's Day!

33 weeks and growing!

The Nursery Area:

This is a sitting room that is right outside of our bedroom.  We are keeping the babies' area simple for now.  They will be sharing a crib for a while.  Once they start pestering each other, we will move them into their own bedroom and give them their own cribs.  The little tug boats are gifts from Uncle Dave, he made them by hand!

That is all!  We start our NST's (non-Stress Tests) this week so I will report on how the boys do.  Hopefully we don't have any news to report for another couple weeks but as we all know, you really can't be sure!

Thanks Mom & Aunt Diane for all the cooking and sewing!  Can't wait to see you soon!

32 weeks (a week late!)

Hi!

I meant to post last weekend but had family flying in and got distracted!  So, here is what my 32 weeks post WOULD have been, had I been more on the ball:

Still feeling great and getting bigger by the day!  We had an ultra-sound on Monday (June 22) and everything looks great.  Baby A is measuring 4 1/2 pounds and Baby B is measuring 3lbs 10oz.  The average singleton would weigh about 3.75lbs at this point so both boys are doing well!  They have been measuring my cervix and it seems to be getting shorter which makes the Dr. a tiny bit concerned.  This past u/s, it shortened again so they ran a FFN (fetal fibronectin test).  It checks for a protein that is produced in women who have an increased risk of preterm labor.  The presence of the protein indicates that labor could begin sometime within the next 2 weeks.   Because I am not exhibiting any other signs of preterm labor, my Dr. is not too concerned.  We did, however, get the steroid injection to help the babies' lungs develop a little quicker, just in case.  But, I feel great and just need to take it easy and wait it out.  These little guys need to cook a while longer.  Basically, here are my goals:  as long as I make it to 34 weeks, I can deliver at my local hospital.  If they come sooner, they will have to fly me to Seattle where they have high level NICUs.  Once I am past 34 weeks, I can deliver here and they will not stop labor once it starts.  Ideally, I would like to make it to 36 weeks (or beyond)...so they can be as fat as possible:)  So, we are hoping to welcome these babies into the world some time between the 4th of July and August 3.

Besides the small concern about my cervix, I feel really great.  I am sleeping well, still able to run errands and exercise a small amount.

Matt has started on his 2nd season of indoor soccer.  He loves it.  He has been on a couple trips for work but other than that, he has a great schedule.  We are taking as much time together as possible.  The weather has been gorgeous, I could not imagine being this pregnant in 90 degree weather.

My mom, Mia, Aunt Diane, Maggie and Kelsey were out this past week.  Tomorrow, I will post about their visit, add a 33 week belly picture and some pictures of the babies' room.

Pray for these little guys to stay in until 36 weeks.  That is just 3 weeks away, incredible!

30 weeks

Hi!

Time is FLYING by now.  I can't believe we are into June...I want time to just slow down a bit!  The weather out here is gorgeous, mid 70s and cool at night.

We had a short but sweet visit last weekend from Jan and Dave.  The weather was great and they were able to do a lot of reminiscing about the area since its been a while since they have been back.  They went to a Seattle Sounders (soccer) game, saw Seattle, visited some family friends, etc.  I kept up as much as possible...but it was just nice to have them over before it gets super busy with babies!

Matt finished his 1st season of indoor soccer.  The woman who works at the front desk took one look at my belly and said to Matt "well, I guess you won't be signing up for the next session!".  Haha.  But, actually, he is.  He enjoys it so much and it's only an hour a week.  And, although I won't be able to go watch him play, it will be a good break for him anyway.  I already know the kind of hands-on dad he is going to be.

Nothing new to report on the baby front.  I am growing bigger and bigger which means I am growing increasingly more uncomfortable (I think the boys had a growth spurt during the past 2 weeks).  But, both boys are busy kicking away in there.  Matt has now been able to watch them move around...which is equal parts amazing and creepy.  We are aiming to keep the little guys cooking for at least another 4 weeks.  After 34 weeks (4th of July), they can come whenever they are ready.   We realized last night that this could very well be our last month without children.  Its scary and exciting.  I have my next u/s on June 22nd.

June is going to be a busy month for us!  We just had some of the Campbell's, this weekend my dad stops by after a business trip while Matt flies out east for a wedding and then travels a bit for work. My mom, Mia, Diane, Maggie and Kelsey come out for a week on the 20th...this month is going to fly by!  I hope I can keep up.

If you could, keep us in your prayers these next 4 weeks.  If the babies are born early, they would certainly be healthy....but I would hate for them to spend any of their 1st few days/weeks of life in an incubator.  I keep telling Matt, I want them to come out fat and screaming mad so we can take them home right away.  We know God has this all in His hands.  My job is to just stay as healthy as possible.

"Talk" to you all in 2 weeks:)
